About the Organizers
Gujarat Maritime Board
Gujarat government has taken many pioneering initiatives to boast maritime sector of state through its nodal agency, Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB). We are one of the most progressive and foremost port development authorities in India. We are developers, administrator, facilitators, and regulator for the non-major ports in Gujarat. In nutshell, GMB administers 41 ports along Gujarat's coastline, which are strategically positioned to service the vast north & central Indian hinterland.
We have positioned Gujarat as state with largest and most advanced ports, which are handling most of India's sea freight. In process, Gujarat maritime sector has witnessed massive infrastructure development and achieved many "nation's first honours" as far as sea-freight handling and port capacity development is concerned. Being "First Mover" in many aspects of maritime development in India, we are now contemplating to develop a maritime cluster in Gujarat, which can support sea-freight volume of Gujarat (currently at 366MTPA) and also that of the western coast of India.

Vibrant Gujarat 2015
In words of Honourable Chief Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel, "Gujarat - one of India's most progressive states with a positive development quotient has always capitalized on its strength to leverage strategic opportunities. Its emerging channels of progress thrive on business friendly policies, pro-people, proactive administration which has led to creation of a globally preferred investment destination".
Since its inception, six "Vibrant Gujarat" (VG) summits have been held, which so far have been a resounding success that immensely contributed to transformation of Gujarat into a "Global Business Hub". The brand "Vibrant Gujarat" began as an "investors' summit" has now evolved into an ideal platform for knowledge sharing, social and business transformation. The Summit gradually evolved into a round-the-year investment promotion exercise with events scheduled well in advance of the main Summit planned in 2015. Gujarat Maritime Board is also organising series of such events in and outside of Gujarat to promote Port sector of Gujarat.
This International seminar on "Maritime Cluster" is planned as pre-event to Vibrant Gujarat 2015, with a specific focus on GMB's priority project namely"Establishing a Maritime Service Cluster in Gujarat".
